Royal Quinoa
Royal Quinoa
From the field to the warehouse, these are the steps we take to make sure that our customers can count on us to fulfill their quinoa needs.
Solid Supply base:
Andean Naturals has developed a loyal, strong supply base by putting the farmers interests first.
Andean Naturals works with over 180 of family farmers in the Andes. In total, their production reaches 2.6 million pounds per year. These family farmers benefit from technical assistance, cash advances and free organic certification as provided by Andean Natural’s Bolivian partners. In addition, they are paid up to 15% above market prices for their Royal Quinoa.
Our Bolivian partners - from field staff to the managers of the processing plant are from the quinoa producing area and understand the realities of the field and the needs of the farmers. At the core of our strategy is to provide a market access service to the farmers, seeing them as the foundation upon which our company is built.
First-world processing and quality assurance:
The quinoa is taken from the field where it is threshed and selected, to a cleaning facility in La Paz-Bolivia. There, the quinoa is rubbed to remove the bitter saponin coating (a natural protection against birds, rodents and insects) and then washed. After drying, the quinoa passes through a line of de-stoners, magnets and color sorters to assure purity. The final stages are testing and then bagging and shipping. The plant has a strict quality assurance program to meet HACCP standards.
Sales and volumes:
Most of our sales are in full container loads or truckloads shipped directly to our clients warehouses. For less than container loads please contact us, we can either direct you to a wholesaler or include you in a our container sharing program.
